About the Alpha Pharm Continuing Education Programme

The Alpha Pharm Continuing Education Programme is a distance learning CPD  programme designed to keep you, the  busy pharmacist,  up-to date with the newest  evidence -based  information on a variety of clinical topics.

Our modules are researched and developed for the South African situation and are edited by local clinical experts – making these modules highly relevant and readily applicable to your day-to-day practice.

This programme is developed, compiled and directed by Insight Medicine Information. It is sponsored by Alpha Pharm and operates under the auspices of the Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa.

How the Programme works:

Each year Insight compiles 5 modules on various therapeutic topics. These are distributed to enrolled participants together with a set of multiple choice questions and an answer card. This was previously always done by post or email and now the online option is available as well.

You simply need to read the module and answer the questions. All the research has been done for you. Answers may be submitted online or by fax or email or by snail mail. These are marked and your results together with model answers are returned by post or are available online immediately after the closing and release dates.  The pass mark is 65%.

Certificates

If you are successful in 4 of the 5 modules, you will be able to print out  your own  certificate.  For participants not able to connect via the internet a printed version will be posted.

Fees

All Alpha Pharm Retail Marketing participants ( i.e. members of the Alpha Pharm Retail Marketing franchise) are able to participate free of charge.
